A Blessed Event

Alli's BaptismTomorrow, my oldest child will be publicly professing her faith in God and her acceptance of Jesus into her big beautiful heart!

The years have sped past as I have watched my vivacious little chubby cheeked baby grow into a strong, passionate, beautiful young lady.

This girl is not for the weary hearted- oh, no- she is a fireball!  For future references, I warn the soul who dares the consideration of dating my precious daughter!  Not [just] because she has a big mean daddy (and she does) but because she is decisive and full of pure and blinding vibrance.

I ask for your prayers for this young lady as she takes her steps in obedience to the Lord.  Prayers for strength, growth and focus- guidance, wisdom and truth.  Prayers for protection and prayers for her future.

She is my daughter- yes this is biased.  That is how it should be.  She is also her own person, and stepping aside from my own biased opinion, I can honestly say this:  She has a glow and an energy you won’t see too often.  As a young person, she is exceptionally wise for her years.

God has blessed our family so greatly!

Blessings,

Greta

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”  Matthew 11:25

I am so happy for you. It meant a great deal to me too when our children were baptized. May God pour out His Spirit upon her and be Lord of her life always. 🙂

    • Thank you, Debbie! I let Alli read your response and she smiled and said, “Thank you!” Like the post about repentance- we teach heavily on our repentance and how we want to be in the Spirit and not of the world and how that means we don’t just wonder off our path because we are forgiven- God is so much deeper than the sin or the love we perceive.

  2. This Little Light of mine…

Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Look to your hands for the number of ‘Ten’. Five are wise and five are foolish.

Ecclesiastes 10:2 A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.

The works of the wisdom and foolishness follow you for all the days of your life.

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

By the brightly lit avenues truth is found, but only mischief is found in the darkened alleyways of ignorance.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Of ten only five hold and tend to the light of truth, for five cannot see nor know the way.

Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

But the balance of truth is neither right nor left but a balance between the two.

Proverbs 4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

The straight and narrow path is a road without excess that few find and only he who holds together his pure hands (Virgins) in prayer may find the path of balance and truth.

    Ecclesiastes 7:
15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?
18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.

Ten is the light of the spirit. Ten is perfection of truth. When the bridegroom comes thy will be done and the unity of heaven will be found inside of you.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Until righteousness can be perfected (The marriage of heaven and earth, Higher and lower self), tend to all the lamps so that you may not be found lacking in that final hour of assentation.

    Matthew 25:
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Today, you give your daughter her lamp of accountability… it is now her very own light of reason that she must tend to. Her choices are now her own, and all we, you or anyone can ever do is our best to love and guide her to make the best choices she can make… Now go be a proud momma! Go team salvation!

    • I love that! “Go team salvation!” Thank you for the scripture- I need to print it out as part of her baptism “packet” (lol I am a nut..) Yes, she is getting a gift (packet) which I hope she treasures as a reminder she can take with her to collage and beyond. She’s got a few years before collage, however, with as fast as time flies, it’ll be here “tomorrow.”

      • Then add this to her packet as it concerns the debate of living to one’s self or to others, which is best?

To live without care is to create a type of anarchy, and as we are a social animal we cannot live completely unto our own. We need others to survive and we need the company of others in which to motivate us to grow. Without others we stagnate into a kind of self-wallowing muck that clouds our reality like a chaotic soup. It is in our challenges that we grow much like all things that are refined by opposition. The best wine is grown on vines that suffer through drought. The strongest roots and branches are those that contend with strong winds. Precious metals are refined in the hottest fires and diamonds and pearls find perfection through irritations and pressures. It is our trials that define and give us our character and a name that marks us through eternity as one found worthy whose refined riches outweigh their pleasures. A sword that is not beaten into submission through the extremes of heat and cool, in both fire and ice cannot be tested in battle for it is an instrument of truth that will easily break when most needed by its master. You are such an instrument of truth… and the heat of opposition is also cooled in compliance. Though we find our own path we also share in our struggles by becoming part of the lives of others through the mutuality of understanding. In the end you must be wise and know when something is about you and when it is not. You must know when to rise up and when to sit down. Balance is the key to life and the goal is that which dictates the man in the mirror. See the reflection as your ideal self; the man of God made in His image that you seek to create. Give unto Caesar but live unto God. Be both a student and a teacher. Be both a master and a servant. Give and take, that is the balance. Live, love, share and be the best person YOU know how to be while looking and living in the reflection of God. So listen and eat of the fruits the good trees that one may offer, but also know when to spit out the pits… for only truth is the harvest of the soul.

      • This is awesome, Daniel! AWESOME. THANK YOU. I put this into her “book.” I’ll have to take a picture of it when I get it all together!

      • 😀 I had just finished written it for a someone that asked if it was best to listen to other people or not and thought it was a good lesson to share. In fact I might make a post out of it. Either way, I am glad you liked it. This is all part of the lessons I am trying to share.

  3. There is no greater joy for a parent than to watch, and instruct, their children grow spiritual in their relationship with Christ. May your days be filled with such blessings.
