Twas the night before school resumes,
And all though the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Just the clicks of my mouse!
The children are all tucked in,
So snug in their beds,
While visions of school books,
Dance in their heads…
I’d continue this lovely rhyme, however, my brain is experiencing glitches at this point in the evening. If you’re confused as to what a “glitch” is, I can try to explain: It is a term I have heard ten billion times this summer by my children in reference to an irregularity in code in an app on their phones (ex. Mind-craft, etc..)
I’m not fond of video games, nor how children act during and after playing on them for a short time, however, I am an advocate for technology and balance. The chance to “play” on their phones is a great motivator for getting rooms cleaned, household chores done, and behavior- in general.
OK…Yes, they have phones. We are a blended family and they have phones for when they are away…
Anyway, I am writing. I am blessed. I am SO excited for school to resume tomorrow morning because it means I should have a few moments to finally think a strait 20 minute thought. If you have ever hung around three ADHD preteen children, you might know the depths of my need for some quiet time. Precious, however, many many thoughts and ideas and observations all at once.
I will miss the energetic little rascals while they at school, however, tomorrow I have a date with my mop, my duster, my scrub brush AND my sanity!
This has been one of the best summer vacations because I have felt God’s embrace and have had more peace in my soul than ever before.
I am SO grateful for the beautiful blogging friendships I’ve had the honor of being blessed with and they have been great encouragement throughout the summer (and probably a large reason for the heartfelt peace…)
As life is shifting all around, I pray for increased closeness and wisdom amongst my fellow Christians and for approachability to those who don’t yet know Christ.
SO blessed to share this evening!
