Infatuation with the sky, along with a strong desire to seek the beauty that surrounds us, inspired this evening post. I am amazed at the invention of the camera!
Have you had one of “those moments” as you are doing something, when you stop an marvel at the technology you are using? I had one of those moments today with my camera. In my mind’s eye, I can reflect on all kinds of vivid and beautiful memories, including the images of beauty I’ve seen and never forgotten. Having the ability to photograph and share the beautiful images is such an astounding realization and blessing.
Every morning, I NEED to spend time with God (if I don’t, I resemble a confused and over-caffeinated air-head…) In these quiet moments, I ask Him to guide my steps.
A dreamer by nature, I have a tendency to make lots of my own plans: Plans to reorganize the house, my computer, plant 10 new rose bushes, bake muffins with those spotted bananas before they have to be thrown away, put up those glamorous drapes, take a run, make a dress…you see, I have far too many plans. God, on the other hand, has much grander (I know this isn’t a real word) plans. I was reminded of this truth through His Word this morning.
Proverbs 16 has several reminders and I encourage you to take a moment to read them. For now, I will share two of my favorites:
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9
My prayer: Father, Thank you for the beauty You place around us in this life. As we embrace this beauty, I pray for our human wills to be softened, allowing You to guide our many plans. In Jesus’ Beautiful Name, AMEN
